Between the 14th and 18th of September the broadcasting and media industry once again gathered in Amsterdam to showcase their latest developments, meet customers and network with industry colleagues during IBC. This year Red Bee Media returned as an independent, agile and dedicated media services provider, ready to showcase the best of what we have to offer.

We had a fantastic show with hundreds of visitors at our stand, where we showcased demos of our innovative services, talked to journalists and networked with our customers and partners. Our stand was one of the busiest in Hall 5 (where we were located), and we can say without any doubt that we outshone the neighboring stands in both the number of visitors and the level of energy.

During the show we showcased some of our newest and most innovative services including our automatic subtitling solution in partnership with Speechmatics, our next generation Media Management platform Nucleus and our software-based Playout capabilities. In addition to this we demonstrated our live, distribution and remote production services through a Mobile Radio Studio broadcasting live audio and video throughout the whole show. Red Bee Media did not only provide the services to facilitate the production, but also hosted our own Tech Talks in the Studio, with Kristian Langbridge at the helm.

These and other topics were covered by journalists from industry media and resulted in stories on Red Bee Media in outlets such as Broadcast Magazine UK, Broadcast Magazine NL, SVG Europe, Rapid TV News Broadcast Pro and CSI Magazine.

During the show we also had two speaking opportunities with great performances by Richard Cranefield from the Playout team and Hewson Maxwell from Access Services. Richard attended IABM TV to discuss how far we can go in the cloud. Hewson spoke on the possibility of perfection when it comes to automatic speech recognition together with Will Williams from Speechmatics. Thanks to the big interest in the subject, this talk will be followed up by a webinar 17th of October.

All of Red Bee Media spent most of our waking time on our feet on the busy tradeshow floor. In addition to that, a few strong and enthusiastic members of our team even participated in the 4K4Charity Run, an exciting initiative to raise funds for organisations supporting diversity and inclusion projects. This year, all proceeds will benefit a local and global non-profit Stichting NewTechKids and Iridescent.

All in all, it was a very successful IBC 2018 for Red Bee Media and we are truly humbled and grateful for the interest and engagement shown by everyone who came by our stand.  IBC 2018 gave us renewed energy, new ideas and an extended network and we are already looking forward to next year!
