Red Bee Media, one of the world’s leading media management companies providing multi-platform technology and creative solutions to broadcasters, content rights holders, platform operators and brand owners, today announced an industry-wide programme of discovery into the future of media and the impact of new technologies, changing consumer behaviours and evolving business models. The programme, named Tomorrow Calling, will build a picture of the media world, its technological possibilities and market dynamics in 2020, through a series of think tanks, quantitative and qualitative research, one-to-one interviews, live panel debates and white papers.
Commissioned by Red Bee Media and conducted with MTM London, a specialist provider of research and strategic advice to the media, technology and communications sectors, Tomorrow Calling will draw together the brightest minds in media and seek to guide broadcasters, content owners, studios, platform owners, technology partners and brands though the maze of new market opportunities for TV and online video. It will culminate in a full report to be published in 2012.
Tomorrow Calling will explore three key themes which will centre around three live panel debates involving top-level executives from the broadcast, media, telecoms, technology and entertainment industries:
- Networks, Platforms and Devices: how will the media market evolve through to 2020?
- Changing Media Audiences: what will media consumption look like in 2020?
- 2020 Business Models: content monetisation and the prospects for industry revenue streams
The first panel debate will take place on Tuesday 27th September in London and will be chaired by media commentator and BBC NewsWatch presenter, Raymond Snoddy. He will be joined by the following experts from leading media technologies and companies and together they’ll explore future developments in platforms, networks and devices and their impact on existing and emerging markets:
